Today was the first time we had been able to compete on all fours with the rest of our class and Ocean Pirate came third in a time of 7 hours and 39 minutes over 210 n.m. at an average speed of 27.4 knots per hour.

The boat went well today and shows what she is capable of even after 40 years. The weather was good which was a blessing / surprise since the forecast was for a force 3 / 4 and lumpy seas.

Tomorrow we go on to Newcastle - which is a shorter journey, but we now have the bit between our teeth and will push hard.
